Satellite radar image shows massive cloudburst over the south-west of Australia

A giant cloudburst has been spotted over the north-west, causing a series of “horrific” thunderstorms.

The weather system, which also includes the remnants of Tropical Storm Marcus, is now forecast to continue in the north and south of the country.

The storm, which is forecast to be in the lower-to-middle-upper 80s, has caused damage in the south of Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.

It is forecast that the system will move north-east towards Queensland before returning to the north of the state.
